High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
Tone, shaped body
Liposonix is a treatment that uses High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to kill off fat cells. Similar to Coolsculpting, Liposonix kills off fat cells in an affected region, avoiding any burns or trauma to the surrounding cells. Liposonix is used to kill of stubborn fats for the purpose of toning and sculpting your body.
The ultrasound energy used is entirely focused on the determined areas, at 1.3cm beneath the surface of the skin. As the dead fat cells will have to be metabolised by your body, the actual results that can be gained from the Liposonix treatment are only apparent after a few months.
The treatment area is marked and painkillers are given.
During the treatment, patients may experience discomfort, cold, prickling, tingling or warmth.
There may be different levels of discomfort depending on the treatment area.
One Liposonix treatment in Singapore usually lasts about an hour. Patients will typically resume their daily activities immediately after the procedure due to the little downtime needed.
A patient is likely to lose about 1.5 to 2 inches in waist circumference after just one treatment, depending on the extent of the area treated. This translates to a difference of up to one clothing size. Liposonix is used to treat love handles and fats around the abdomen. It is a non-invasive treatment that is approved by the Food & Drug Administration, making it safe for those in Singapore that wish to target specific areas of their body. Side effects may include mild bruising during the first few weeks after the treatment.
Liposonix is not meant to be a weight loss procedure, and patients should not expect to lose any weight post-treatment. It will be best to remember that Liposonix is meant for shaping your body by targeting specific areas, and reducing unwanted bulges of fat. Also, the Liposonix treatment is for those that are already within their ideal weight range, and have a Body Mass Index(BMI) of less than 30. The price of the treatment will vary according to the area you wish to target and the number of treatments you will need.
